Age Limit on Support

Ireland has some of the most amazing young STEM students with potential multi million euro ideas performing on on the main stage at home and abroad, receiving top awards, but yet we don't offer proper funding or support!

As it currently stands Ireland is embracing the 'Start-up' state of mind. We have a number of hubs, incubators , and even a startup commissioner.

However, although a lot of these are available to students, they are only available to those 3rd level students. This is a huge problem because somewhere along the way we have forgotten that often those people winning big in the startup area (Especially STEM) are aged 12+, not just 3rd level students.

Over the past few months and years, I have been incredibly lucky because I have received a huge amount of support for businesses & individuals, but others haven't been so lucky, and this will come back to haunt us in the future.

The simple fact is people like the Collison brothers (and younger) are flying off elsewhere because articles in the newspaper aren't good enough anymore, we need to start putting our money & resources where our mouths are, and giving these young entrepreneurs with the next big idea some help.

This can be scary, because the idea of giving some teenager money or a space without necessarily being able to go through all the legal agreements etc. isn't really isn't every business persons ideal dream, but the fact is the next Bill Gates is sitting in his or her room with an idea that could change the world, and all they need is a bit of help!

Ireland has some of the most amazingly talented young people in the world who are winning global competitions, building life changing tools and more! All they need is support.
